Testimonials

I came to Tammy for individual therapy when my husband decided to end our marriage after having an affair. I was shattered and didn’t have a good relationship with my family, nor was I really prepared to live on my own. Through the therapy, I learned a lot about myself and how I needed to develop my thinking and learn better ways to deal with my feelings. I came in with a lot of shame and poor boundaries. My work with Tammy was never easy, but it was always done with a lot of compassion. The kind of work I needed to do to grow and develop required a lot of deep internal work. Through this hard work, I now no longer suffer from anxiety or panic attacks. I have been able to heal and develop boundaries and good relationships with other people. Because I’m calm, I have made progress in my career, and I’m now buying my first house ever. This process took me 5 years of therapy, and it was worth it. I am very grateful to Ms. Fontana for helping me.

– Chinese Singaporean, 30 years old

I started working with Tammy 7 years ago after I was caught by my wife 15 years having engaging with multiple sex workers. I was so filled with shame and humiliation. Therapy was a very difficult process for me as I had so much shame, and I needed to learn to accept myself and my imperfections. The work I did with Ms. Fontana helped me to gain a better understanding of myself and how compartmentalized my feelings and thoughts are. How I built false versions of myself to cope with my overwhelming feelings. It was a lot of pain and shame to work through, and it was not easy, but the version of myself now, a healthy, integrated father, was worth it. I have a relationship with my children that I never had with my father. The work I did helped me to develop and grow to be a mature, healthy thinker with good boundaries. I was able to repair my relationship with my wife and become a better father. I had a childhood trauma I needed to heal, and Tammy Fontana helped me with that.

– Expat national, 41 years old

We sought out sex therapy with Tammy Fontana. We started with a 10-minute call to learn about her style. We thought that we had sex problems. The therapy with her was revealing and surprising. What we thought was a simple sex problem turned out to be much more complex. Each of us carries a lot of shame related to our difficult childhoods and has difficulties with boundaries. We realized that we struggled with intimacy and communicating our needs and wants sexually and in other areas of our relationship. At the beginning of therapy, we were frustrated because we thought sex therapy would be much more about, well, sex. But we trusted her, and we learned how our own resentment towards each other for not being able to resolve conflicts in other areas of our lives was affecting our sex life. It was a process, and we worked hard and are now finally feeling much closer to each other, but also now have an easier relationship, sex, and are more intimate.

– Married Expat Couple in their mid-30s

I started to meet with Tammy to help me work through the ending of my marriage and divorce. The work with her helped me to learn about unhelpful thinking and thus actions in my marriage. The therapy helped me to have an amicable ending to my marriage. My ex-wife and I are friends now. I continued to work with Tammy after my divorce to continue to develop myself and address the unhealthy beliefs and thinking that affect my ability to have a good relationship. Since working with her, my business skills and relationships have improved, and I’m doing better at my sales job. I am also in a new relationship that is going well.
